Agile Project Management

Addition's approach to Scrum(Agile)

At Addition we have implemented a new agile project methodology using the scrum framework. We are currently using the framework to deliver over 60 percent of the current web development projects. We have continuously adapted the method to fit web projects and have also supported the approach of practical tools which we provide to our customers with our full understanding of the project and its momentum.

Sprint

SCRUM is a project approach to IT development in which flexibility of the project delivery and objectives are the core point. The key words are dialogue, more dialogue, ongoing evaluation and adjustment of planning, and more dialogue. Under the scrum framework a project is organised into manageable iterations of work, which become a series of scheduled tasks. Such an iteration is called a sprint, and runs typically over two weeks.

Each sprint begins with a coordination meeting, where a priority list for the sprint is discussed and planned. During the sprint regular status meetings are held, and at the end evaluation process and the sprints tasks are generated. SCRUM in principle means that for each sprint into position on how the various tasks prioritized against each other. At the same time ensures a solid structure and procedure, the constant quality and relevance of the tasks completed.

Added Value using Burn Rate

New tasks can come to along the way, while others may become less important. A sprint will therefore always have the most value-adding results as a priority. The intensity of completetion of task, i.e.. the hours are allocated to a sprint, called burnrate, which can turned either up or down depending on your needs. The guiding parameters for a project's progress is therefore not a-z planning and Time estimation, but instead which high priority tasks should be completed first and at what burn-rate.

Overview and more control

From a SCRUM organisation user perspective this type of project management offers a maximum amount of control over the process – its cost and resources usage without any surprises.

Teamwork and close dialogue

With our experience of web development projects we recommend strong communication and high transparency in the development cycle ensuring successful implementations. When projects are running, we report progress with two-week presentation meetings where we show the customer fully featured, finished products. These products in principle can be published to the site. The customer can at any time make changes to there user stories or change the priority of the user stories.
