02 april 2008The Danish Parliament Folketinget chooses Addition
The Danish Parliament have selected the IT company Addition – part of Traen Gruppen – to deliver a new website that is expected to be ready for launch at the opening of the Parliament in October 2008.
The goal of the deal between the Parliament and Addition is to deliver a CMS solution (Content Management System) that in every way lives up to the Parliament administration’s requirements for fast and accurate communication between the Parliament and the surrounding world.
"As one of the most prominent and important public institutions in Denmark, the Parliament must set high standards for the internet based communication. It shall be even easier for both private and professional users to find the contents they are looking for at ft.dk, and moreover the technical accessibility on the site must be improved, so that it will be easier for users with different functional boundaries or different technologies to use the site,” says vice president Per Anker Hansen from the Parliament, and continues:
"It is important, that the Parliament’s website becomes a central and user friendly starting point for all traffic that has to do with the Parliament’s fields of work, and that it is based on a modern technology that makes future development, modification, and decentralized updating possible. Addition’s suggested solution for this task is both visionary and realistic, and therefore we are looking forward to being able to present a new and more modern website.”
The Parliament’s new CMS solution is going to be part of a comprehensive integration into the Parliament’s Backoffice systems, including the ESDH system TingDok. Furthermore the solution will integrate the websites of Ungtinget (Youth Parliament), Ungdomsparlamentet (Youth Parliament day), and Partiernes Politik (Politics of the Parties), respectively, in the main page with the address www.ft.dk, and create a greater interaction with the website of EU-Oplysningen (The EU Information).
"We are proud to be selected to solve an assignment that large and exciting. We are dealing with a major strategic solution, where user friendliness, integration into backoffice systems, and possibility for effective decentralized updating are given pride of place, and we are looking forward to making the Parliament’s website one of Denmark’s best and easiest accessible communication platforms,” says managing director Jakob Huus Andreasen, Addition A/S.
"To obtain an assignment with such great public attention shows that the strategy of strengthening our position in the public market has come to fruition. It is recognition of Traen Gruppen and our ability to integrate the core competences from the concern’s different companies,” says group managing director Kenn Petersen, Traen A/S.
The Parliament’s new website is expected to be ready for launch on the 1st of October 2008.
